AM572x/AM571x Compatibility Guide(SPRABX8B)

Hi,

I have a question regarding AM57xx compatibility guide (SPRABX8B).

According to "5 Pin Compatibility " in compatibility guide,  Table 3 captures detailed differences in the ball assignment and pin multiplexing.

For example, please I show Ball number "M4".

Ball           AM572x                 AM571x

------------------------------------------------------------------------

M4            vin3b_fld1             vin1b_fld1/vin2b_fld1

M4            gpio2_27                gpio2_27/gpmc_a22

I think that the above shows pin assignments when MuxMode 6 and 14 only.

However, according to the data manual of AM572x/1x, the pin function is different when MuxMode 3 and 4. But it is not written in compatibility

guide. So I suspect the comatibility guide is not enough information in it. How do you think about this? Should I trust the data manual, not

compatibility guide?

    Hi,

    The two occurrences of pin M4 that you mention concern only differences in VIN and GPMC functionality. Check notes in the right hand column of respective table sections. For detailed information the device datasheet, TRM and Errata are the leading documents.
