Installed this SDK for linux and PRU development on BeagleBone Black. The linux is for a x86 no cross compiler. How do I use the SDK for Sitara ARM development?

There is a toolchain in the SDK02.00.00.00, it is located in ti-processor-sdk-linux-am335x-evm-02.00.00.00/linux-devkit/sysroots/x86_64-arago-linux/usr/bin

Toolchain is not the same as the LINUX kernel that requires PRU patches. The link to the guide says to use this SDK and the x86 LINUX provided. The PRU SDK specifically says to patch the x86 LINUX to work on a TI ARM. How does that work?

Hi,

Sorry, I misunderstood you. Can you confirm are you trying to install the pru addon package and enable PRU support in kernel?

If so, you can download PRU sources from here: software-dl.ti.com/.../index_FDS.html (search for PRU Addon Package), and follow the steps described in these wikis:

processors.wiki.ti.com/.../PRU-ICSS_Getting_Started_Guide
processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Linux_Kernel_Users_Guide
processors.wiki.ti.com/.../PRU-ICSS_Installer

In order to compile linux kernel (with or without PRU support) you should use the toolchain provided with Linux SDK.
