AM3517 display output setting 8x8x8 is not good.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM3517, AM5728

Hi,

My customer uses AM3517.

Customer says, the screen change is sluggish with 8x8x8 display setting. So they uses 5x6x5 display setting, not 8x8x8.

What is the cause of this symptom? CPU takes long time for preparing the display data(8x8x8 data is bigger than 5x6x5)? CPU takes long time for internal data transfer? CPU takes long time for outer data transfer to LCD?

Sorry poor information. But I need information for this symptom.

Also now customer is evaluating AM5728 processor. Is AM5728 possible to have same issue as AM3517? Customer worry about it.

Please give me some advices.

I appreciate your quick reply.

Best regards,

Michi

  • Hi,

For AM35X issue please describe the use case in more detail. Also post what software/version is being used.
As for AM57X, this is two generations newer than AM35X, with completely different display engine, so it's useless to draw comparisons between the two processors. AM57X documentation, including errata is now available on the TI product pages.
