AM5K2E04: USB Host without 5V VBUS and DRVVBUS

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM5K2E04

Hi,

in a design the AM5K2E04 USB1 port is being used just as an on-the-board Host port to another chip. The intent is NOT to use USB1VBUS and USB1DRVVBUS, since there is no need to power anything with VBUS. However I am concerned that the USB VBUS comparators and detection of VBUSVALID levels, if the 5V VBUS is not connected.

Is it possible to go without 5V VBUS for this connection, or do we need the current limiting switch, enable it with USB1DRVVBUS and feed the 5V output back to USB1VBUS?

Thanks,
