DSP device is held in reset (66AK2L06, TCI6630K2L, TCIEVMK2L)

Hi all,

My program based on evalutation board TCIEVMK2L.

When I load a "hello word" program to DSP C66+, the ccs shows me the following figure:

When I load a "hello program” to ARM, the error is as following:

arm_A15_0: File Loader: Verification failed: Values at address 0x0000000000000020 do not match Please verify target memory and memory map.

arm_A15_0: GEL: File: C:\Users\Li Chen\workspace_v6_1\hello\Debug\hello.out: a data verification error occurred, file load failed.

arm_A15_0: Unable to terminate memory download: NULL buffer pointer at 0x3aa4

I am confused by DSP's reset, any helps is appreciated. Thanks.

Dear Chas,
Please make sure that you have set boot mode to "DSP no-boot mode"

Hi Titus,
My Dip setting is "1111". It means “DSP No-Boot – With CSISC2_0_MUX_SEL set to 1” according to your reference. However, I am not sure With CSISC2_0_MUX_SEL set to 1. Where is the CSISC2_0_MUX_SEL?

Hope your further suggestion.

Dear Chas,
You can set "0001" for DSP no-boot mode which I always use.
Also you can check the LCD display for boot mode selected after power ON the board.

You can create new target configuration for K2L in CCS and connect the DSP then load the code.

Hi Titus,
Acautally, I do set "0001" for DSP no-boot mode. However, LCD dont have any boot information but SRSS PMbus Test and Starting thttpd.

btw, That gel file is autumatic added into target configuration.

So, what I should do to find why the device is held in reset when I load my program.

Any suggestion is apprecitaed. Thanks.

Dear Chas,
Its clear that still you are not in DSP no-boot mode.
If you are in DSP no-boot mode then all the cores wakenup from reset.
Also you could see the boot mode type in that small LCD.
Just set other bootmodes and check able to see the mode type.

Dear Titus S,
Thanks for your kine tips. I just set "1111" and find the dsp no-boot mode in LCD.
The problem that the device is held in reset is solved successfully.
However, the following questions occur. I wonder it is gel file or target configuration's problem, is't it?
BTW, the version of MCDSK is 3.01.01. Maybe it needs a updata?
