66AK2L06 Multi-Carrier Configuration for 4 Tx Channels

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: 66AK2L06

Hi,

This is my scenario:

I have four carriers, at 1200 MHz, 1240 MHz, 1500 MHz and 1540 MHz, each have a signal that have 20 MHz of RF bandwidth (10 MHz @ baseband), I have no RX at all and all the channels on DFE of  66AK2L06 is going for TX with two DACs

I want to see, is it possible to do this:

combine and upconvert signal at carrier 1 and 2 with 10 MSPS I/Q Samples and send it to one DAC over JESD and also  combine and upconvert signal at carrier 3 and 4 with 10 MSPS I/Q Samples and send it to another DAC?

It must up-sample signals by 6x or more then sum each two of them.

  • Hi Hossein Talaiee,

We will get back to you on the above shortly. Thank you for the post and patience.
  • The DFE block can receive (4) LTE10, 10Mhz bandwidth signals, upsample, frequency translate, and sum into two streams of two carriers each.
You can consider that the DAC34J84 is a dual stream complex DAC, so you can connect the 4 JESD lanes to one DAC, that has two different complex outputs. This JESD mode is similar to LMF 442. The IQ rate is typically 122.88, 184.32, 245.76, or 368.64Msps. The Serdes Line rate for this JESD mode is 20x the IQ rate. In the JESD Rx, you can have an RF sampling ADC, or an IF sampling ADC, or a real ADC. The difference would be a complex output or a real output. With two streams complex, we would use 4JESD lanes, with two streams real, we would use 2 JESD lanes. (note some ADCs or Receivers define M differently) so LMF can be 422 (because M = 1 for frequency sampling) 442 (seen as complex receiver for 2 streams), 222 for 2 real ADCs. The Rx and Fdbk blocks within DFE provide stream block down conversion, and channel frequency translation, filtering and decimation.

If this answers your questions, great (please push Verify Answer) otherwise please ask more questions.

  • Hi Hossein Talaiee,
I encountered some problems when I loaded a simple "hello world" program. I think It may be caused by the cmd file or Gel file. Could you please give me that cmd file or Gel file that you used?
    Thanks you a lot.
