NAND flash design

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6424

Hi, Everyone

I want to design  NAND flash to store my firmware . I used TMS320C6424 and 1Gb NAND MT29F1G08ABBDAHCIT .  I want to design the flash area as efficient as possible to extend the life time of the NAND . In my opinion NAND will divided to four sections

1- Boot Loader

2- Master firmware (FW1)

3-Slave firmware (FW2)

4- Configuration section ( CONF)

Normally we will boot from FW1 . When firmware updated image will be wrote to FW2 and boot from FW2 if boot completed successfully FW2 will be copied to FW1 and change the boot address to the default ( FW1) . If boot not completed successfully then FW1 will be copied to FW2.

Could you please add your suggestions and recommendations. and if there are any document desripe how to design the NAND flash for Embedded system product please don't hesitated to share with us
