We're in a bit of a quandry here over the selection of the master clock frequency for our OMAP3530-based board. Originally I had selected a 26MHz oscillator as on the BeagleBoard and planned to use 13MHz for an external codec, fed from SYS_CLKOUT2. However, the 3G radio module's manufacturer warns against use of 26MHz and 13MHz clocks in the system (probably to avoid interference with the baseband signals on the radio module). Looked at bumping up to 38.4MHz but there seems to be a dearth of 1.8V oscillators at that frequency. At the other end, 12MHz, there appears to be quite a selection. What would be the impact on the system when switching from 26MHz to 12MHz for the master clock? We are looking at using the S-Video output from the OMAP. We are not using the display (other than S-video), and the codec can deal with freqs other than 13MHz. Impact on USB? Using lots of that.
