Hi,

if i edit e.g. linux-4.1.6-.../drivers/video/fbdev/da8xx-fb.c and try to make nothing is built.

What i'm missing?

Hello Erich,

First check this line in the drivers/video/fbdev/Makefile:
obj-$(CONFIG_FB_DA8XX) += da8xx-fb.o
Then check the state of CONFIG_FB_DA8XX in kernel's .config file.
If they exist and your changes are not reflected, clean the build before running make.
