Big Endian support emif of AM335x ?

Hi,

There is a mention with Big and little endian modes in 7.3.1.1 Features of TRM of AM335x.

In addition, there are following mentions in Table 7-223 STATUS Register of TRM of AM335x.

31: reg_be

Big Endian.
Reflects the value on the config_big_endian port that defines
whether the EMIF is in big or little endian mode.
0 = Little endian.
1 = Big endian.

What does show the above config_big_endian port ?

Will EMIF of AM335x support Big endian?

Hi,

No, big endian mode is not supported in the AM335X EMIF realization.

Is it the following understanding?
1.Mention with Big and little endian modes is wrong in 7.3.1.1 Features of TRM of AM335x.
2.Because config_big_endian port is fixed to little endian with hardware, I cannot switch to big andian.

1. No it's not wrong. The generic IP has this capability, but it's not functional in AM335X.
2. Yes, this is correct.
