hello, everyone,

I have successfully booted my custom board from SPI NOR flash,the DSP is TMS320C6678. But I don't know the relationship between the SPI clk and the corresponding bits in the boot parameter table, who can tell me how to change the boot parameter table in order to shorten the boot time? Thank you for the post. Are you running the direct SPI boot on custom board or IBL based SPI booting?

Hi Tain Eric,

The SPI boot parameter table and the location of the boot parameter table in the device memory are documented in the C6678 datasheet. In SPI boot mode theROM bootloader( RBL) boots the the device with PLLs in bypass mode so the boot is slow. In the boot parameter the CPU frequency parameter and the BUS frequency parameters need to be changed inorder to improve the boot times.

The romparse tool provided in the MCSDK 2.x can be used to append the boot parameter table to a boot table image to replace the default boot parameter table loaded in by the RBL. We have an example for creating such an image that I am attaching for your reference. The nysh.spi.map file contains the parameters to change the boot parameters.
