I found the post saying that MMC0 of AM3358 cannot use 4G eMMC NAND Flash(higher than 2G) in this forum.

I have one question about this issue.

Does this limitation mean that AM3358 cannot boot properly from MMC0 if 4G eMMC nand flash is mouinted?

or does it mean that AM3358 can just use up to 2G storage even if 4G eMMC is mounted?( Booting and all other functions are working well)

I already built the PCBA on which 4G eMMC is mounted.

so, I want to know I must change this with 2G eMMC.

See section 26.1.7.5.2 from the AM335X TRM Rev. L. If your eMMC device is compliant with the eMMC v4.41 specification you will be able to boot from it. Note that this restriction applies only for booting from eMMC on MMC0.

Still I am not clear (sorry for that, I am not native english speaker )

I connected MICRON MTFC4GLDEA-0M WT (which is 4G byte eMMC memory compinant JEDEC/MMC standard version 4.41 compliant) at MMC0 of AM3358.

Can I boot from MMC0? or Should I change this 4G byte eMMC memory with 2G byte MTFC2GLDEA-0M WT for boot operation?

Hi All,

I am using eMMC through MMC1 port for AM3358 processor's booting. What is allowed maximum size for eMMC for MMC1 port? Is Any specific parameter of eMMC need to take care ,while selecting eMMC to boot the processor?

There is no limitation for eMMC on MMC1.
