TPS65910A3 For AM3352

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM3352, TPS65910

Hi

We are using TPS65910A3 for interfacing with AM3352. Do we need to use External LDO to connect to AM3352 VDDS RTC pin. If we use External LDO for connection , then during full System power off , how VDDS_RTC will get power ?

What is difference in RTC functionality and RTC-only mode ?

Can we use Coin Cell to power on VDDS RTC using TPS65910A3 PMIC.   Datasheet of TPS65910A3 mentions the RTC LDO in back up mode Can source only 0.1mA only where as AM3352 RTC consumes 2mA. Then how to power on RTC in Power off mode  ?

Thanks

The external LDO must be powered from an always-on supply.

A coin cell connected as TPS65910 backup power can be used, but you must check whether the current drawn from the processor RTC will satisfy your backup duration requirements. TPS65910A31 must be used if you want to work in RTC-only mode. RTC current measurements can be seen here:
