How can I "mount" NAND filesystem when using NFS

Hi.

I'm using IPNC RDK 3.8.0 on our proprietary board.

The system runs on NAND and also on NFS - whichever is defined.

We performed some recordings and saved files while running on NAND. Now the unit doesn't come up in NAND - kernel panic when mounting rootfs.

I can get the unit working with NFS. How can i attach or mount the NAND ubifs, so that I can retrieve the recordings?

The filesystem is written as follows:
nand write 0x81000000 0x006C0000 0xE000000

Is there any way to "cast" the address of 0x6c0000 as another, parallel disk/filesystem, and then to extract the needed files from it?

Hi Mechi,

You need to adjust the bootargs to select rootfs from NAND (ubifs) or Ethernet (NFS). See the below wiki for more info:

I know how to switch between working on NFS and on NAND.

My question is this - if something went wrong in the NFS environment, but the NAND is working well, is there anyway to copy the NAND environment (similar to make -s ubifs in the NFS) to replace the NFS environment?

Or - how can I take a stable ubifs_ipnc.bin file and unpack it back into the NFS environment?

I would be interested in knowing what "goes wrong" in the NFS - in order to prevent this from happening, and I can do this by somehow comparing the unstable environment (filesys) and a stable one.
