AM3352 Memory Suggestions

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM3352

Hi,

We are designing our custom hardware around the AM3352 chip and have tried to use the Beagle Bone Black schematic as a guideline. But, the eMMC memory that is used in the beagle bone black is a 0.5mm pitch BGA with 6 mil drills and 3 mil traces which would be quite expensive to manufacture. However, I understand that the eMMC does a lot of the memory management for you internally which is something we are looking for in the memory we want to use. We were thinking of doing NAND flash memory but you require a separate flash controller that takes care of memory management which is something we don't want. What are some other types of memory that does memory management internally that we can use for the AM3352 chip?

Thanks
