OMAP-L138 without OS

Hi Guys,

I am very new to OMAP processors and OS. Previously I have worked on other processors with Assembly and C without any OS. So I dont know how to start with OMAP-L138 processor. And is there any way where I can use OMAP-L138 without any OS on both the cores(ARM + DSP) ?

You can use Code Compose Studio to develop and run code on both the ARM and DSP without an operating system.

You mean without any OS on either of the two cores? In that case how is the booting done on the OMAP-L138 processor? (FYI : I use a Hawkboard )

Actually I want to design a board with OMAP-L138, which I do not have any plan to use an OS on it. So where can I find any documentation on the booting process, and is it just a CCS environment is enough to work on the processor without any OS?

Details on how to turn a binary into a bootable image without an OS are found in the bootloader application note in the product folder for the device.

CCS can be used for emulation and loading code onto the DSP or ARM.

You could refer to the U-Boot source code to understand how a OS less load is performed.
