Customer question:

I am investigating the Sercos solution for the TI AM335x processor. I have already contacted GH Binroth in regards to a Sercos stack. They have informed me that the “hardware” must be licensed by Sercos directly. I believe TI has a certificate of product conformance (http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sprq003/sprq003.pdf), but I don’t know if this satisfies the hardware license? Is the AM335x licensed for Sercos and if there’s anything additional that I need to do?

Here is feedback:

"The AM335x can be used for the Sercos slave and it does not require a license fee with respect to Sercos International (because the solution is based on the PRU-ICSS firmware and not the Sercos FPGA IP).

For evaluation please contact the company Automata. They are the Sercos stack provider that has been used to certify the TMDSICE3359 solution. Contact information can be found here: www.ti.com/.../companyfolder.tsp
