AM335x Ethernet PHY compliance test

I know Ethernet PHYs are external components; however the transferred data from AM335x to Ethernet PHY is generated in AM335x.
Also, if Ethernet PHY cannot generate the signal (e.g. random pattern) in itself, the host controller must generate the signal and output wave via Ethernet PHYs.
Therefore, I think the software is needed to generate the signal.

Currently TI does not have the software to provide for PHY testing. If I understand correctly, you need software that generates a fixed pattern of bit values coming out of the MAC independent of any Ethernet framing. Is this bit pattern specific to the tester used or part of an open standard?

It is not decided what bit pattern or an open standard is used.
Now, my customer tries to test PHY by using "far-end loopback function" in PHY.
