AM335x McASP configuration in DIT mode

Can one McASP be used as TDM receiver and DIT transmitter with different sampling frequency each other?

For example:

McASP0 Receiver : TDM mode, fs=48KHz

McASP0 Transmitter: DIT mode, fs=44.1KHz

Yes, see section 22.1.2 of the AM335X TRM Rev. L.

In section 22.1.2 of the AM335X TRM Rev. L:

" In DIT mode for McASP, additional features of the transmitter are:

- Transmit-only mode 384 time slots (subframe) per frame. "

In section 22.3.8.3.2 of the AM335X TRM Rev. L:

" The DIT transmitter only works in the following configuration:

- 384-slot TDM, XMOD = 1 1000 0000b. "

Do these not indicate that in DIT mode (DITEN=1) the transmitter works and the receiver does not work?

Yes, one McASP can be used as aTDM receiver and DIT transmitter with different sampling frequencies.

DIT is only applicable to transmission. The limitation is that if you have one Tx serializer in DIT mode, then all Tx serializers will also be in DIT mode. You can’t mix and match transmit modes. However, you can still configure the receiver however you’d like.
