Using CCS 6.1 with a C5517 DSP - Can I enable the RTOS Analyzer?

Hi,

I am wanting to use the RTOS Analyzer (Task Profile) with my code running on a 5517 DSP.   When I click on it I get an error saying could not detect a UIA configuration.  I tried to create a UIA configuration using the document "Systems Analyzer User Guilde - section 5.1 Quickly Enabling UIA Instrumentation" at http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/spruh43f/spruh43f.pdf

I attempted the directions in 5.1. Using XGCONF to Enable UIA Instrumentation but no matter what I try I get "org.eclipse.rtsc.xdctools.INVALID_RTSC_TARGET: Invalid target"

The only RTSC option I can find to enable is in <properties> <C/C++ general> <Configure Workspace Properties> and there I cannot determine what Target: or Platform to select.

Can You help me?

Regards,

Steve

  • Hi Steve,
Unfortunately we do not support CC5517 DSP on SYS/BIOS (TI-RTOS kernel). It's supported with our legacy DSP/BIOS. UIA which enables the RTOS analyzer is only compatible with SYS/BIOS and so it will not work with DSP/BIOS running on CC5517. With an older CCS (version 5 and older) you can use the RTA analzyer tool which is what DSP/BIOS uses.
