Video encode/decode lib

Currently, I would like to use video encode/decode lib of TI to trans-code video. However, I am using EVM6472 board. My question is: could we use TI lib for video encode/decode on 6472EVM?

I aware that, it will be work well on Davinci chip but could and how to use this lib on 6472?

Thanks

Viet

  • Hi Titusrathinaraj Stalin ,

Thanks for your answer. I do not have experience about this point. I am studying and could you confirm my following understanding:
    1. The Codec Engine as your link that only provide API for application to run with XDAIS algorithm. In order to perform video functionalities such as video decode/encode, resize .. we still need other component (Codec lib that performs encode/decode functionalities). is it right?

    2. As I know, TI provided a free library to perform video functionalities. I can found them in the link software-dl.ti.com/.../index_FDS.html. I will focus to H264 and MPEG2 lib. As the datasheet and user guide document I can know that these libs can work well on DM64xx and OMAP35xx systems. In these system, they supports to perform video functionalities. For example: on DM64xx, it has VICP (Video Immaging Core-processor) and Video processing sub-system. on OMAP35xx,it has video hardware accelator. Currently, we need to perform video functionalities on TMS320TCI6486 chip and do not have any other hardware to support video functionalities. So as my understanding, it is impossible to use the TI Lib on my system. Could you confirm my understanding?

Thanks and looking forward your feedback?
