How do you connect a Full Platinum Version of CCS V4.1.2 to a TMS320C5515 eZdsp USB Stick?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C5515

I have just installed a full licenced version of CCS V4.1.2 Platinum and have used the update manager to update all components.

I am now attempting to connect to a TMS320C5515 eZdsp USB Stick. There is no 5515 eZdsp Stick option in the target configuration list. I do see a 5505 Usb stick on the list but attempting a debug gets a emulator connection failure message.

Step by step instructions on setting this up this up would be appreciated.

I have tried using the SDConfig tool to diagnose the connection. (I have used this successfully on an XDS510 USB emulator).  There is no obvious choice of emulator to test within this tool either regarding the 5515 Usb Stick. Again step by step instructions would be useful.

Regards, Andy

  • Andy,

Yea, that's something that should be documented.  Our tools group has not added the C5515 DSP supported targets yet.  The C5000 DSP group is working on that currently, but I'm not sure when support will be added.

In order to use the C5515 eZdsp now you should need to choose the XDS100 v1 USB Emulator as the Connection.  Then choose the USBSTK5505 as the Device.  Once you chose the Device, then open the Target Configuration under Advanced Setup.  There under Cpu Properties (C55xx) you can specify the gel file for the C5515 eZdsp.  I can't remember if it's on the CD that came with the eZdsp or if you have to get it from the Spectrum Digital site (http://support.spectrumdigital.com/boards/usbstk5515/reva/).  After you Save the configuration, you should be good to go.

    Regards.
