AM437x RTC

Hello,

When connecting the RTC pins on the AM437x to an external oscillator, can the RTC_I pin be connected to the output of an oscillator and RTC_O be left floating?

The TRM mentions that this is possible for the XTAL pins which will then operate in bypass mode. But what about the RTC?

To clarify,
I meant to say OSC1_IN and OSC1_OUT instead of RTC_I and RTC_O

Hi,

Please read section 5.12.2.3.4 of the AM437X Datasheet Rev. B. Note that the external oscillator must operate from the VDDS_RTC voltage rail, i.e 1.8V.
