Hi,

Is the TMS320DA810 recommended for new designs?

From my understanding, TI does not support it directly and it requires software support from a 3rd party. Are there any equivalent/similar devices to the TMS320DA810 that are supported by TI directly?

Hello,

TI has put most of the Performance Audio Software Framework for TMS320DA810 on the open source. If you are looking to design for Audio with Dolby/DTS content, we would recommend you to use TMS320DA810. You may use open source software to enable your design. In the case of additional software integration services, you can use TI 3rd parties.

If your design does not require Dolby/DTS libraries, we would recommend you look at OMAP-L137 (http://www.ti.com/product/OMAP-L137OMAP-L138 (http://www.ti.com/product/OMAP-L138

What is the best way to get a datasheet and TRM for the TMS320DA810? There is no availability for the information on the website.

Hi Adam,

The datasheet and TRM for the DA8x family are only made available to approved business cases. Marketing will contact you directly to establish what might be available.

When can I expect to be contacted by marketing to relay the business case? I have not heard from anyone at this time.
