spec question on AM57xx

– Streaming video up to full high definition (Full-HD) (1920×1080p, 60 fps)

Q1. Dose it mean decode or encode performance for H264 or other codec type??? I can't find the answer in http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Processor_Training:_Multimedia

Q2 . Does it mean the maximum supported resolution is 1920x1080 in HW ?? How about the minimum supported resolution ?? Is the limitation for SW as well ??

Yes, IVAHD supports the following:

- Video Decode: H264, MPEG4, MPEG2, and VC1

- Video Encode: H264, and MPEG4

- Image Decode: JPEG

All supported ivahd features are described in the Processor Training: Multimedia link, that you refer in your post. If you want any kind of tuning or new features you need to contact a third party contractor.

Q2. Could video with resolution such as 2592x1944 and 64x64 be decoded/encoded ??

> By our trial, 1936x1080/1920x1200 can't be decode, it looks like the maximum is 1920x1080, the minimum we try is 176x144.

Q3. Is the IVAHD inside DRA7xx the same as that inside AM57xx ??

By your speaking, IVAHD supports the following:

- Video Decode: H264, MPEG4, MPEG2, and VC1

individual fps for each codec ??

- Video Encode: H264, and MPEG4

individual fps for each codec ??

- Image Decode: JPEG

individual fps for each codec ??

Could you give a performace on the above ??

But I just see performance about the following,

2.7 Multimedia (Decode)
2.7.1 H264
2.7.2 MPEG4
2.7.3 MPEG2

Q1. Did you know MJPEG's decode and H264/MPEG4's encode ??

Q2. why the 1080P performance of MPEG4 is worse than H264 ??

Q1. after checking component-sources\ipumm_3_00_07_02\extrel\ti\ivahd_codecs\packages\ti\sdo\codecs\h264dec\docs\

we found description as below
Supports resolutions up to 4320 x 4096
By our testing, it show lots of error like the following

[h264 @ 0x1fb40] first_mb_in_slice overflow
[h264 @ 0x1fb40] decode_slice_header error
