I have a question about the AM335x OSC0 clock. The first page of the AM335x datasheet (SPRS717H) suggests that the OSC0 frequency may be anything between 15 and 35MHz. However, in table 6-4, frequencies of 19.2, 24, 25, or 26MHz are listed as typical, with no specification on the min or max.
Also, the AM335x TRM (SPRUH73L) lists a maximum frequency of 26MHz for the McASP functional clock. This seems an odd spec to find in the TRM, as opposed to the data sheet.
I would like to run an AM335x with a 32MHz OSC0, and use this as the functional clock for the McASP units, but textual comments in the datasheet introduction aren't a good substitute for clear specifications. What are the actual requirements for OSC0? Do I need to stick with one of the listed frequency options, or are there other choices? And if frequencies up to 35MHz are allowed, will the McASP run that fast?
Thanks for your help,
Howard
