ISDK Flashing Profibus Slave Example and Bootloader to NOR Flash

Would like to flash the image to NOR flash so on reset the ROM boot see's the bootloader i've also built and runs the bootloader which in turn discovers the profibus_slave image also on NOR flash and loads it to RAM and runs it. I've built the NOR flash bootloader as illustrated in the documentation, but I've been unable to flash it along w/the profibus_slave image to NOR flash. Can somebody point me to the correct docs?

Hi,

What is the error you get while flashing the application? The NOR bootloader and the Profibus NOR app is available in the pre-built binary package, you can use that unless custom changes are there. Steps to flash - processors.wiki.ti.com/.../AM335x_SYSBIOS_Industrial_SDK_Getting_Started_Guide

OK I followed the directions you pointed me to. I flashed the pre-built nor flash bootloader into nor flash sector 0 and the profibus_slave app into sector 2 as the documentation stated. I erased the remaining nor flash sectors as well as the entire SPI flash as well. I shorted pins 1 & 2 of J5 to tell the bootstrap to find the nor flash bootloader on sector 0. Once the nor flash bootloader is running it should look thru the remaining nor flash boot sectors and find the profibus_slave app image on sectors 2 and 3 and run it. When I cycle power the profibus_slave app never runs. I either didn't flash properly or the profibus_app wasn't built correctly to be booted from NOR flash I suspect. At anyrate how do you recommend I trouble shoot this scenario?

Hello,

You can check if the NOR bootloader is flashed correctly by putting a breakpoint at 0x0800_0000(Start of NOR Flash). Also UART logs will help.
