BeagleBone black fast boot time

Hi,

How can I boot up beaglebone black in less than 5 secs? I dont need any desktop environment , I want to simply create rootfs from buildroot or linux SDK to run Qt application. Is this possible to wake beagle in less than 5 sec? What can be the optimizations?

Thank you Biser,

1) is this wiki provide for beaglebone black ?
2) is there any simple script or way? , wiki is extremely long :) and at the end of wiki I couldnt see 3 seconds boot results :)

Hi,

1. Yes, this wiki applies to BBB.
2. No there isn't a simple script.

In addition to the wiki, to further reduce the boot time, you can use u-boot falcon (where u-boot is skipped, the boot process is ROM code -> mlo -> kernel) mode to further reduce the boot time:
