Beaglebone Black with custom Display 10.1'' 1280x800

Hi,

i am using my Beaglebone Black with the Chipsee 7'' 1024x600 running on Debian. Now i want to use a bigger Display with my Beaglebone Black.

I need some help on the Software side. Can i add my new Display configuration somehow on the Device Tree? Or do i habe to change the Kernel and compile it again?

I have the Debian Source code for the Chipsee 7'' Cape and looking inside the U-boot and Kernel Sources i have this:

U-Boot:

Kernel:

Can i change this settings to the ones from the 10.1'' Display (Timing....) and after that compile the new Kernel?

Would it work or do i have to change something else too?

I have read this tutorial from TI already:

I dont have here the Beaglebone LCD 10.1'' Cape Support to add.
