Are individual ferrites on each VDDSHV group really necessary?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM3352

Hi All,

We have an existing AM3352 design which is based on a TI-supplied reference schematic.  We're now working on a second version, and we are questioning the role and value of every part in an effort to pull as as much cost out of it as possible.  The reference schematic shows individual ferrites on VDDSHV1 through 6, and I find myself wondering why this was done and whether they're truly necessary or beneficial.

I'd propose to simply tie all of the VDDSHV pins to the same power plane, perhaps fed by a single ferrite or none at all.  If anyone has done this or something similar and can comment, I'd be grateful.  Or if someone from TI could explain the reasoning behind a ferrite for each VDDSHV group, that would also be interesting.

Thanks,

Josh
