AM335x - free running timer without using timer pins

I would like to get make a free running timer cannot affect by system reset.  I am using an external 25 MHz oscillator connecting to OSC0 as system clock. Can I configure a timer to use this 25 MHz clock without connecting this clock to a timer pin?
