DSP-6678 PLL INITIALIZATION AFTER BOARD RESET

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6678

Hi,

We have made a board with 4 DSP's(TMS320C6678) . The board is working fine for past 6 Months. All of sudden, one DSP out of 4 DSP  are not working after applying manual board reset.

All four DSP's are O.K after power ON(i.e : IBL loaded - PLL Initialized, peripherals configured) . But if we do manual reset using board Reset switch through FPGA,PLL is not initializing properly in one of DSP.

Checked the Board reset ,Power and clock . Everything looks o.k.  Also The problem DSP is reading data and sourcing I2C clock from EEPROM.

We are just probing the SYSCLKOUT and found its frequency are not configured.  But if we connect the problem through JTAG   and initialize using .gel file, the PLL is getting configured .

The problem is that the DSP PLL is not initialized  using IBL in EEPROM.

Please let me know what could be the cause.

  • Hi Sakthi,
How the IBL is loaded to all the 4 DSP's? I mean to ask, how the I2C is interfaced with 4 DSP's to load the IBL.

All of sudden, one DSP out of 4 DSP are not working after applying manual board reset.

So the manual board reset was working across 4 DSP's earlier and it is not working now.

    Thank you.
