VPE spec in AM572x

hi experts,

we have question about VPE after reading AM572X TRM 2.0/1.1

1. What's the maximum/mininum supported resolution in VPE input & VPE output ??

2. Is there any limitation in the size or ratio during scaling ??

3. I found the link http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Linux_Core_VPE_User%27s_Guide_for was nothing as referring to https://e2e.ti.com/support/arm/sitara_arm/f/791/t/465480. where could I find the testvpem2m demo code ??

In the VPE overview:
- Scaling of the input video up to 1080p (1920x1080) resolution
- Full 1080p input and output support
You can find detailed description of the vertical/horizontal scaling in sections 10.3.4.2.3 Vertical Scaler and 10.3.4.2.4 Horizontal Scaler.

Great thanks for your response.

According to e2e.ti.com/.../485711, the TI server is currently under repair....

So I try to use capturevpedisplay to demo VPE instead, and I got the following ( SDK 2.0.1 )

Here is successful to demo

hi Experts,

As I read the provided spec, I found additional question as below

– Minimum horizontal scaling ratio = 1/8x
Q1. what does this mean? 1/80, 1/81, 1/82 or 1/8, 1/16, 1/24

– Maximum horizontal scaling ratio – limited by output line buffer (2014 pixels)
Q2. width 720 -> 2014 (this is max output width no matter the source width ?? )

hi experts,

About the Q2, we found that it will fail as we scale up over 1920x1080, like 1928x1080. There'll be a green bar in right side of the video.

Any idea ??

When the HDMI mode is in 1920x1080, this test is able to be executed.

This issue should be why the prefered mode is not 1920x1080 when the HDMI cable is not plugged after boot up?
Or how to switch the mode to 1920x1080 dynamically.
