Beginner development board

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6748

Hello,

I'm student on the telecommunication field, and i would like to make some project with DSPs, so i need some orientation.

I'm starting to read the following book : Real-Time Digital Signal Processing from MATLAB® to C with the TMS320C6x DSPs Second Edition.

So i'm asking for a dev board that is compatible with the approach mentioned in the book, and also a good reference for looking for C and Matlab syntax for DSP.

Cordially,
B. Zine

  • Hi Zine,

TMS320C6748 LCDK is a better choice for beginners and students to learn DSP.

There is an officially TI released starterware package with good examples to understand the peripherals.

To buy  the LCDK and to have a look at the starterware package, visit,

  • Thank's a lot for the answer, that's what i was looking for.

Just wonder if the programs contained in the book i mentionned above are compatible or not ?

The processor which I recommended is C6748.
In the book, you have to check what are the processors supported and the sample codes belong to which series of processors?? Is it for C674x.

More over, in the C6748 starterware package which comes along with the C6748 LCDK kit has lot of sample codes which can be easily imported into CCS, rebuild and run on target C6748 LCDK.
