Can RTM-Break-out Card for K2H EVM be inserted the rear side of MTCA chassis?

Hello

We plan to use the RTM-Break-out Card (link here) for K2Hx EVM. The K2H will be inserted into MTCA chassis. From the picture of this RTM, it seems like that this break out bard is not a standard size RTM for MTCA.

If this board can be plugged into the rear side of MTCA, I have another question. As the 10GbE port of this RTM will face down to the floor when it plugged in to MTCA chassis, will this forbid us to plug in cable?

    Hi,

    Is there any specific reason for inserting RTM-Break-out Card and K2Hx EVM into MTCA chassis? For my understanding, RTM-Break-out Card does not compact-able for MTCA chassis. I will check with hardware team and confirm the same.

    You can able to directly connect the RTM-Break-out Card and K2Hx EVM and validate the 10GigE, Hyperlink, and AIF2 subsystems of the Keystone II SOC on the EVMs. see the below image for RTM-Break-out Card and K2Hx EVM connection setup.

    The reason of plugging K2H EVM board into MTCA chassis is because we need to use the AMC connector to share the data among other boards. The reason of using RTM is to transmit the data out by using 10GbE or hyperlink to other chassis.

    I have another question. From your picture, the RTM is faced up connecting with K2H. Can I make the RTM face down connecting with K2H without changing K2H position? The reason of asking that is the Edge B of K2H is the top of MTCA chassis, and AMC(Edge A) is the bottom side. So we need to make sure the RTM is not out of shape of MTCA chassis.

    The last question. are there any Edge B extension cable or converter can help us to connect RTM to K2H? Are there other kinds of RTM board for K2H EVM available on the market?

    No. RTM BOC only compact-able for above my image. It does not support your requirement.

    No. TI has recommended only RTM-Break-out Card for validate the 10GigE, Hyperlink, and AIF2 subsystems of the Keystone II SOC on the EVM.
