[66AK2H] Clarification for Bootmode

Hi,

My customer is designing their target board with 66AK2H and has some questions about MOOTMODE configuration.

BOOTMODE[5] is mapped to DEVSTAT[4] and datasheet states this bit forces the other bit fields to predetermined set of values on DEVSTAT register.
Now my customer is considering to use SPI, Ethernet, and UART boot in their system and in these use cases, some bit fields on DEVSTAT does not state its default value when DEVSTAT[4] is set as 1. Could you please check ? For example, the following bit fields on DEVSTAT are not clear.

SPI
- Param Idx/Offset

UART
- Port
- ARM PLL Setting
- Boot Master

There is no default value for Boot Devices and Lendian, but I'm assuming these bit fields are selected as is by BOOTMODE state. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, if we can get the ROM code for both A15 and C66, can you share the download link ?

Best Regards,
Naoki

  • Hi,

Have you referred the bootloader user guide for detail information on ROM boot process? If no, please refer the bootloader user guide from below link.

We have not released the ROM source code for 66AK2H devices.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Raja,

I don't think the following bootloader user guide states the detail about DEVSTAT[4].

    www.tij.co.jp/.../spruhj3.pdf
    www.tij.co.jp/.../sprugy5c.pdf

I'm still waiting for your response.

As for ROM code, I understood. I asked this because TI did provide the ROM code for KeystoneI devices.

    Best Regards,
    Naoki
  • Hi Naoki,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I agree there is some information missing in the documentation regarding the default settings. I will file a literature bug to get this fixed in the upcoming revision. In the mean time I am posting the settings for SPI, UART and ethernet boot for your reference. The dot in the table indicates the default value when DEVSTAT[4] or Min parameter is set to 1

I hope this answers all your questions. Please let me know if we can provide any other information.

    Regards,

    Rahul
