Hi,

In our application developped on dm648, when we call NC_NetStart() to start NDK Stack, we notice that only some times application hangs and goes to $exit This happens both in emulation mode and in flash boot mode. It seems that sometimes it's not able to initialize ethernet driver! in emulation mode if we restart the application two times, than it works.

What we can check?

I have controlled the code and I see that the problem seems to be in:

HwPktopen function, after Setup_EmacInitConfig and before Emac_open. I am not able to check what happen because it is compiled ASM code and I don't know how to control!

Between Setup_EmacInitConfig and Emac_open the cpu goes in halt, but if I restart the program works correctly.

What can I check or can set to solve this situation?

Hello there,

I'm experiencing the same problem.

It happens when I'm trying to run the "client" example supplied with the NDK v2.1.

Do you have any news with this issue?

David, Rafael,

There has been a patch release for the DM648 driver to fix this issue. Please give this patch a try. You basically will just copy over your existing files with the ones in the patch and then rebuild your application.

Steven Months have passed but no official word on this issue. Please ask PSP team to respond this bug in NDK is coming in everybody's way

However, I was reviewing the threads on this issue and I noticed that some of the related threads were updated with the following solution. The solution was posted after your last response to these threads, so I thought you may have missed it and want to be sure that you see it, in case this fixes the issue you are having:

See this post. I think the problem might related to printf() calls in the EMAC driver ISR. You can either comment them out or replace them with LOG_printf().

Does anyone know of a similar patch for NDK 1.92.00.22? We are experiencing similar issues with it and the NC_NetStart call hanging at times, interesting thing is if we declare a variable of 1000 bytes before this call such that the NetWorkIPAddr function is above address 0x810c6000 the hanging problem seems to go away. We are using CCStudio 3.3, bios 5.33.06, sdk 3.0 DV sdk 1.1, CG tools 6.1.14 if that matters.

Ken,

No, AFAIK the patch was never back ported to NDK 1.92, as this was an older release.

However, I *think* the following may work ...

The patch fix is in the driver, so what you could do is try downloading the NDK 2.0 and driver, apply the patch, then build your NDK 1.92 application pointing to the NDK 2.0 version of the drivers.

Again, I say I *think* this will work, but this has not been tested.
