C6457 CSL API Document

Hello,

Where is the C6457 CSL API document? I tried to generate it using doxygen, but not successful.

My DSP codes are migrated from C6416. After modifying some symbols, the project was compiled, but there are still errors when linking: some unsolved symbols, such as EDMA_config.

The best way to solve the problem is to look at the API reference. But I can't find the document.

Any help?

The CSL API usage problem comes from the linking stage of my codes.

I tried the simple HPI example from TI’s C6457 CSL library. The compiling is fine. There are errors at linking stage: the HPI CSL API symbols are not recognized. The error messages like this: unresolved symbol _CSL_hpiClose, first referenced in ./Hpi_example.obj.

I have put C6457 CSL include directory in the “Include Options” under C6000 Compiler, and added lib directory in the “FileSearch Path” under C6000 Linker.

Do I need to do anything more to make the configuration environment work?

If you inspect the make file contents:

include $(CSL3X_ROOT_DIR)\src\common\build\Makefile.inc
MODULE = hpi
include $(CSL3X_ROOT_DIR)\src\common\build\Makefile

you will see that it needs the CSL3X_ROOT_DIR environment variable which points to where the CSL source folder is.

Hi Loc,

Thank you for the information. The CSL source files are not linked to the project. Then, how to set up the CSL3X_ROOT_DIR environment variable?

Hi Loc, I added the CSL API source directory "C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\ccsv4\C6457\csl_C6457_src" to Windows environemnt. But, it still doesn't work.

The API source files used in my HPI example project are located at

C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\ccsv4\C6457\csl_C6457_src\src\hpi

C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\ccsv4\C6457\csl_C6457_src\src\psc

C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\ccsv4\C6457\csl_C6457_src\src\common

Is there any thing missing for my setup? Thanks!

Yes I noticed that the make file reference a "Makefile.inc" under the "<path>\csl_C6457\csl_C6457_src\src\common\build" folder. The file has the setting for CSL hard coded to "CSL3X_ROOT_DIR= /vobs/csl3x" (on my version) which I had to comment out. Please check to see if you have the same problem. Also if you are using CCSv4 there are several places to put the environment variable. The DOs method I reference was for CCSv3. If you are rebuilding the project for CCSv4 refer the wiki page at http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/GSG:Importing_projects_from_previous_versions

Thanks Loc for the information. I downloaded the C6457 CSL API again, and found that this version is CCS4.1 tested (previous one is tested on CCSv3.3). Based on the installation instrunction example setup, the problem is solved.
