[KeystoneI, SmartReflex] permanent damages accumulated if SmartReflex is not functional ?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM10011

Hi,

My customer has a short question about SmartReflex for Keystone1 devices.

They know SmartReflex is mandatory for correct operating among temperature range, but my customer is now concerned that keep feeding incorrect voltage to the keystone devices might accumulate permanent damages in device or not. They are considering the scenario that LM10011 does not work unexpectedly.  Can you answer to their query ?

Best Regards,
Naoki

  • Naoki,

Yes, smart reflex must be used with KeyStone-I devices.  Use of the LM10011 along with an analog power controller is an acceptable smart reflex solution.  Smart reflex must be used to prevent excessive power consumption and heating in some devices.  If the smart reflex power solution does not operate properly, there is risk of either accelerated aging due to device operating above rated temp, device failure due to overheating or device failing to function properly due to improper voltage supplied.
