Can we use DSP in for sound analysis and investigation?

Please refer to Side by side comparison of the TMDXL138LOGICEXP & TMDXOSKL138BET (Link => http://focus.ti.com/dsp/docs/dspcontent.tsp?contentId=66115).

I read it and compared these boards in which both have the same 2 core CPUs - OMAP -L138 Processor.

I find that TMS320C6748 is not found in the core as described in the chart. Is there a mistake?

If it is found to be mistaken and would be corrected. Will the board be able to support DSP and I wanted to use it for Sound Analysis and Investigation?

Sorry. Forgot to add which board i would like to use for Sound analysis and investigation.

I would be using OMAP-L138 Experimenter Kit (TMDX138LOGICEXP-B).

The OMAP-L138 Experimenter Kit (TMDXL138LOGICEXP) only comes with an OMAP-L138 SOM. This kit does not include the C6748 SOM.

Do note that the OMAP-L138 device is DSP+ARM (C674x and ARM9). Therefore, you can still develop your DSP application on the OMAP-L138. But if it is a requirement to have a C6748 SOM, you'll have to purchase the EVM Development Kit (TMDXOSKL138BE).

I understand it better.

I would like to clarify further. I understand that EVM Development Kit (TMDXOSKL138BE) come with two boards.

What are these boards and functions of each board can perform?

Please advise.

In addition to the two SOM modules and the baseboard, the EVM Development Kit contains a UI board.

The User Interface (UI) Board contains the following features

S-Video in/out connectors (TVP5147/ADV7343)
Analog video in/out connectors (TVP5147/ADV7343)
Analog-to-digital converter (ADS901)
Digital-to-analog converter (DAC900)
Camera interface
48-character LCD panel
UI board RJ45 Ethernet jack connector
8 MB NOR flash
512 MB NAND flash
