TMS 320C6711 DSK Evaluation Board, LPT Connection

Hello everyone

I recently got a TMS 320C6711 DSK Evaluation Board for a school project.

It has a J-Tag Programming Port and a Parallel Port. Since I dont have a J-Tag Programmer, I would like to use the LPT Port.

I Installed the Software (Code Composer 2) and run the Configuration Program "Dsk6x11.bat" located C:\ti\cc\bin

1 Datei(en) copied.

Configuration failed!!

The following default configuration has been selected:

PORT Address 0x378 and SPP mode are selected

The parallel port MUST be correctly configured in your BIOS!!

The DSK will not function until it is configured correctly!!

After reconfiguration you must rerun this utility successfully!!

I configuerd the BIOS Settings as said above, but no effect.

I also tried with different settings as EPP, EPC etc.

It seemes as its getting no connection at all, because if i pull the cable, it gives the same message.

The board was used previously with the J-tag programmer.

I would be very glad for any help

Greetings

Chris

P.S. Before anyone askes: Yes, board is connectet and on ;-)

  • Chris,

I don't have a Spectrum Digital C6711 DSK, so I'm unable to personally try the parallel port connection.  But below are some suggestions:

    • Try installing the Spectrum Digital emulation drivers found here, http://support.spectrumdigital.com/ccs221/
    • Try using the Spectrum Digital Troubleshooting guide to debug if the printer port is supported by your computer, http://support.spectrumdigital.com/guides/JTAG_Emulator_guide/
    • Did you verify that the CCS setup configuration selects the correct target and JTAG emulation?
