Hello,

we have to update our Linux BSP for our AM3517 design.

Can i use the latest Graphics SDK: http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_sb/targetcontent/gfxsdk/latest/index_FDS.html

Is it possible to use it with a armhf rootfilesystem?

Is there a 4.x Kernel with GPU support?

If not, is it possible to port the GPU support to a 4.x Kernel?

Last available kernel for AM35X processors is 2.6.37: software-dl.ti.com/.../index_FDS.html

The only comment about the am3517 is:

"Kernel (for OMAP35x/AM35x/37xx) configured without DSS2 framework support will not work with the current display class driver."

The filename is "Graphics_SDK_setuplinux_hardfp_5_01_01_02.bin".

When i have a Kernel with DSS2 framework and a Rootfilesystem with armhf, can i use the GPU?

Hi,

Gfxsdk 5.01.01.02 release notes mentiones - "Sanity tested on AM43x & AM335x GP". This gfx sdk is not tested for AM35x device and hence do not know if 5.01.01.02 release will work on AM35x device. You can check if it works on 3.14 kernel before trying on 4.1 kernel.

To migrate to 4.1 kernel version, you will need to synchroniz DDK kernel module to 4.1 kernel version. Root file system should be compatible. I couldn't get information on display driver dependency.
