Hi,

I need to implement WiFi to my app based on omapl138 running Linux (3.3.0).

I would like to ask that which might be the easiest way to realize wireless from SW & HW point of view:

- Preferrable a module to be implemented on PCB

- Must be a solution with good SW support to Linux - minimum effort

I will use CC3100MOD (and maybe later chip) with TiVa in another app so it is my favourite if SW support is available.

Thank you Tsvetolin,

I compiled the driver, thanks to perfect instructions without problems. I will test it soon with HW (CC3100BOOST).

How do you think, is CC3100 optimized solution or would you prefer another module without internal stack etc..? I'm redesigning the PCB and any solution is possible - I would like to optimize it to maximum data throughput.

Risto,

The CC3100 is optimal about power consumption but has not high network throughput performance. If you search for module with higher network performance check WL1807MOD or WL1837MOD but they have slightly higher power consumption.

I'll upgrade my design with WL18xx to get speed and support as it seems to be quite well represented at TI's support pages.
