AM1808 driver library available (incl. EMAC driver) ?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM1808, AM1806, AM1802, STARTERWARE-SITARA

Hello,

after working years with several other microcontrollers and DSPs, I often saw  ready to use low level driver libraries by the manufactures. But I was not able to find one for AM1808. So my question is:

Is there any kind of low level driver library provided by TI for the AM1808 (inside or outside the IDE), including an Ethernet driver?

Best Regards,

Ralf

  • TI provides some software drivers for our devices.  You can find it in the link here, http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/sdk-am1x.html.

As a quick overview of our available drivers for the AM1808, please visit this link, http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/DaVinci_PSP_03.20.00.12_Device_Driver_Features_and_Performance_Guide.

  • Hi, Christina - I have the same question as raif above. I followed your links but unfortunately, I was unable to locate the low-level drivers for the AM1808. In particular, I'm interested in a UART driver, low-level or stand-alone, that can be used from an application not running on Linux. Can you direct me to such a driver or low-level stand-alone code for the UART on teh AM1808?

    Thanks.

    John

  • John,

Sorry for the confusion, the links that I provided either points to Linux or DSP drivers, not stand-alone ARM drivers.

We do not offer specific ARM drivers that you wanted, but LogicPD has low-level stand-alone programs (contained in the AM1808 BSL zip file) that you can use as a starting point.  You can download the AM1808 BSL from the LogicPD website after registering your EVM.

  • Maybe this recent release from Texas is what you are looking for:

    http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/sitaraware.html

"SitaraWare provides C-based no-OS platform support for the AM1808, AM1806 and AM1802 microprocessors of the Sitara ARM family of devices. SitaraWare provides device abstraction layer libraries, peripheral programming examples such as Ethernet, graphics and USB and board level example applications. SitaraWare can be used stand-alone or with an RTOS."

PS: I know this is an one-year old thread, but maybe the user or someone else may find this useful. Bye.

  • Just as an update on Febr 2012:  Sitaraware & Downloads are now to find here:
