[C5517/C5515] EMIF specification

Guru 24520 points

TI Experts,

Would you please double check the following EMIF specification?

According to the C5517 datasheet as below, it is defined the "E" symbol as SYSCLK.

Is this description correct?

The EMIF output clock(SDCLK) can divide by 2 on EMIF module. So, customer can set the SYSCLK as 150MHz and the SDCLK is 75MHz. In this case, they need to be satisfied with the EMIF AC timing with 150MHz.  C5515 also use this specification.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Best regards.

Kaka

  • Hi Kaka-san,

  • Hi Kaka-san,

Below is response for your questions (Q1 & Q2).

Q1. According to the C5517 datasheet as below, it is defined the "E" symbol as SYSCLK. Is this description correct?

A1. Yes as mentioned in the data sheet this is correct with respect to "Timing Requirements for EMIF Asynchronous Memory"

A2.  Can you clarify on this, above question (Q1) was associated with Async memory and here you are referring to SDRAM (?). Not sure what was intended question here...

     Vasanth

  • Hi Vasanth,

Thank you for your kind response.
I had a misunderstanding for those parameter. This specification is for Async Memory. Not be influence for sync memory.

    Best regards.
