Hyperlink lane swapping

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6678

Hi everyone,

Here is a question seen and answered several times in this forum, but I am really asked to get a proper answer from a TI expert for this implementation case.
On this custom board, Hyperlink SerDes routing is done this way between two TMS320C6678.

Does Hyperlink lane swapping detection handle this configuration for four lane usage ?

If not, I guess it is still possible to work on single lane mode with lane 0, is it correct ?

Thanks a lot.

Tim.

  • Hello Tim,

This should work fine. For multilane connections the only real limitation is that the P and N of a pair must be kept together, i.e., for example RX3p/n must be connected to TX0p/n or n/p. You can’t connect RX3p to TX3p and RX3n to TX0n. The p/n pairs must be kept together and connected to another p/n pair.
