AM5728 SATA signal

Customer is connecting Gen2 device(3.0Gbps), not Cen3 device. Of course, SATA revision 2.5 specification compliant.

Is there anything else that customer should check ?

I don't know what board, what software, what external device they are using, so I cannot say what they should check.

My customer measured SATA signal waveform on TI EVM.  Please see the below.

Is this waveform of output signal from AM5728 no problem? Please advise me.

And then, according to the AM5728 data manual,  the SATA module is compliant with the electrical parameters specified in the Specification, Revision 3.2,

But I don't have its specification. Do you know the the spec of LVDS signal (rise time / fall time for input)?

I don't have the specification either. It's not available for free download. I will ask the factory team for help. They will post here when feedback is available.

Does AM5728 support SSC(Spread spectrum clocking) ?

According to Table 26-9 SATA PHY Tuning Table on TRM, it is written regarding SSC setting.

Dos this mean that AM5728 supports SSC feature?

Yes, the AM572X SATA_DPLL supports SSC.

Can you provide more information on your test setup/?

1) How are you measuring the signals? Are you using differential probes? Are the signals being bluewired?
2) What test pattern are you outputting?
3) From the picture it looks like the scale is 200mv/div, which would indicate that the signal is ~400 mv peak to peak, can you confirm?
a.) The eye height looks ok, but there appears to be some signal degradation which looks to be caused by reflections. What probe are you using?
4) Can you define what the customer means by "not working?", is the EVM not able to connect to an HDD?
5) What software are you using? Android? QNX? CCS project?
