Power question LDO versus switching regulator

In the LCDK there are several supplies that are powered from LDO's as opposed to switchers. I see the logic in using a separate supply if you are using voltage scaling as the core volt can change and the other supplies are fixed. Is there any additional requirement for these other supplies (SATA_VDDR, USB0_VDDA18, USB1_VDD18 and USB_CVDD) to be quiet and run from a LDO as opposed to a switching regulator?
