OMAP3530 XDS-510 Support

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP3530

Is a Low Voltage Adaper required to use XDS510 (TI Part # TMDSEMU510U) with the OMAP3530?  Initially working with the IGEPV2 board sold by the Spanish company ISEE.

The Spectrum Digital Technical Reference for the XDS510 (dated 2005) talks about the low voltage adapter in two places.

It says that the XDS510 supports 3.3 and 5.0 volt (3.3 to 1.8 with Low Voltage Adapter).

Then section 2.3 of the document is an entire section on the proper installation of the Low Voltage Adapter part #701208.  But, no where in the document does it give a hint as to whether this adapter board is included with the emulator or sold separately.  Is there a separate part number for the adapter?

Thanks.

Yes, at least of some sort, for example on the Mistral OMAP3 EVM board there is a level shifter built into the board, so the XDS510 can interface directly to the EVM. I am not very familiar with the IGEPV2, but looking at the manual for it, it appears to only support 1.8V logic levels on the JTAG, so it would need some sort of adapter.

These adapters are not included with the XDS510 to my knowledge (none of the XDS510USB emulators I have came with one), though this may have changed with the increase in popularity of the 1.8V interface, this is something you may have to ask Spectrum Digital to be certain. As for actually getting an adapter, I believe you want something like this.
