Creating 5509A Project in CCS 4.1 without DSP/BIOS

We are creating a 5509A project in CCS 4.1 and we are not using DSP/BIOS.  Real time restrictions on hardware interrupt response time dictate no DSP/BIOS.

The simple things are holding us up now.  My project can't open std.h when I compile.  All of the sources on my PC that I can find are in BIOS directories or XDC tools directories.  I want be sure that I am including the appropriate header files.

Are the header files in the BIOS and XDC tools directories OK for a non-BIOS project?

Thanks,

Mark

  • Hi,

What are  your include directoris listed in your proejct folder? It must be setup issue. You can add an include directory at "Build Properties..."  right click on your mouse at C/C++ Project window.

    Hyun

  • Hi Hyun,

I have included the following directories:

    "C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\ccsv4\tools\compiler\C5500 Code Generation Tools 4.3.6\include"

    "${CG_TOOL_ROOT}/include"

    "${workspace_loc:/PM4_5509A_NoBIOS/User Includes}"

    "C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\bios_5_41_02_14\packages\ti\bios\include"

The last one, "C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\bios_5_41_02_14\packages\ti\bios\include", I have included because I need to include <std.h>.  The only place I can find <std.h> is in the various DSP/BIOS directories and the XDC directories.  This seems to work fine, but I would feel more comfortable if I was not relying on a DSP/BIOS resource.  I don't know if there are any differences.

I would like to find a source for std.h that is not of DSP/BIOS or XDC origin or get confirmation that it is OK to use these versions.

    Thanks,

    Mark

  • Hi Mark,

I tried to find std.h at other dirctoris but it's not existing. So that you should use it from a bios/xdc directory file.

    Hyun

  • Thanks Hyun.  That is the conclusion that I have reached also.  I am not completely comfortable including a "DSP/BIOS" version, but there is no reason to think that there are any real differences.

    Thanks for the quick response.
